Resumo

Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (ChRCC) is a rare diagnosis in itself. ChRCC only accounts for 5% of renal cell carcinomas. This subtype is further divided into classical and oncocytic variants, with the latter being less frequent. This case report is the first to describe an oncocytic variant of ChRCC in a patient on the African continent. The only other ever ChRCC in a black female is described in the United States.¹ We highlight this case because of its rarity and as a reminder to rule out hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer (HLRCC) in patients with a similar presentation.
